LECTURES, TALKS & PRESENTATIONS
I love giving talks and do so gladly. In my talks, I combine basic psychiatric concepts with simple everyday language and humoristic examples from my work as a mental health specialist. I focus on burnout and anxiety in large organizations, and ways to prevent and battle them.
Popular lectures
“Oh no, he’s having a heart attack!”
Well, actually he isn’t. So what is happening? We will try to identify when fear turns to anxiety and when anxiety becomes a disorder. Is it dangerous? And what can be done to remediate it.
“Where were you on 9/11?”
Traumas scar us. Learn how and why traumas leave marks on our psyches.
“Doc please help, I’m depressed”
Sadness is a part of life. When should we treat sadness as a psychiatric condition? If so many people are depressed, perhaps we’re doing something wrong? And what is the role of antidepressants?
"Anti-burnout"
What exactly is burnout and what's the differnce from depression and anxiety? How to best prevent burnout in large firms. What to do and – more importantly – what not to do.
"“The little neuron that could”"
Let’s embark on a magical journey to the origins of the development of the human mind, and understand why it is so important to manifest love and affection to our young kids.
“Normal or not?”
What is a personality disorder anyway? What is a psychopath? And a psychotic condition? Using real life examples, we learn the basics of psychiatric diagnoses.
I engage with the media to provide the public with important psychiatric information, make treatment accessible for those who need it and mitigate the stigma that’s still attached to psychiatric issues. Currently, during the novel Coronavirus pandemic, I provide useful resources and guidance about coping with the unique challenges everyone faces these days.
